OSHA all set to hold a Safety Education Conference for Latino Workers

OSHA has announced that it is all set to host a free outreach and education conference for Latino workers in February of this year. This conference will take place in Oakland, California and will be a one day event that features a number of valuable health and safety workshops and informational booths. It also aims to provide workers with relevant materials and assistance from industry experts to help educate them about employee rights and employer responsibilities. Each year, tens of thousands of Latino workers in the United States are injured or killed due to workplace accidents. The rate of Latino workers suffering from workplace related injuries are higher than that of others. Types of HAZWOPER safety courses

HAZWOPER stands for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response. It includes several hazardous waste operations including clean-up operations, operations which involve hazardous wastes, voluntary clean-up operations and emergency response operations. All these courses come under the OSHA standard 1910.120. The main aim and objectives of these courses is to ensure the safety and health of the workers at hazardous working places.
